If living a life worth living was once rewarding


Is it the same as standing on a university pulpit now?



To be a philosopher is not merely to contemplate profoundly or to establish a school;


It means to love wisdom so much that, according to its teachings, you live a simple, independent life, a life of generosity and trust.

To be a philosopher means to solve life's problems theoretically and practically, at least in part.



Philosophers are also ahead of their time in their outward lifestyle.


They don't eat, sleep, dress and warm themselves like others of their time.


If you become a philosopher, shouldn't you be able to maintain the heat of life in a better way than others?
