The continuity of society, what will it convey?

Advice and advice come from real-life experiences.

This is why humans need a network of relationships with people who are different from me and have a lot of experience.

If you can't learn anything from someone who has lived longer and experienced more than us, it's safe to say that society is doomed.

A society can be a 'society' because it has continuity.

Having continuity means that the experiences and wisdom of the members of the society can be continuously updated and passed on to future generations. In order to adapt to and change the constantly changing environment, on the one hand, people need the experience and wisdom of their predecessors, and on the other hand, they must change it.

It is foolish to stick to the old things, but when you do not inherit any wisdom and experience from your ancestors or do not want to do so, the society appears to be connected on the surface, but in fact, it is cut off and it is just a completely different society.

The survival of society in this respect is a miraculous feat. The society also gambles to make this miracle happen. A good example of this is Japan's Ise Jingu Shrine, which is completely rebuilt once every 20 years.

The reason they demolish an intact building and move it to a new location is that what they have to transmit is not the building itself, but the technology of building it. The carpenter who participated in the construction of Ise Jingu must put all of his strength into creating the most wonderful work, while at the same time passing on the technique to his descendants. No matter how good a carpenter is, if he alone keeps his skills and fails to pass them on to future generations, the skills will perish in his time, and Ise Jingu will also become a building that ends in his time.

Who in our society is struggling to pass on their experiences to the next generation?

What kind of experience will I pass on to future generations?

Do individuals who are members of society have lessons to draw from their own lives?
