The talents and hard work of successful people.
The talents and hard work of successful people.
Talent is the most common unprofessional description we give to successful people.
We usually speak of the invisible reality of talent as if it were behind the expressive reality of sexuality that distinguishes the best from the rest.
We view them as if they were born blessed with special talents and physical, genetic, psychological, and physiological 'factors' that are not permitted to me. Some people have 'talent' and some don't. Some people are born with 'talent' and some don't.
But those who have achieved success in certain fields say:
Superlative skills are actually the result of learning or accidentally breaking dozens of small techniques and movements, making them a habit through careful practice, and synthesizing them into a whole.
None of the partial movements are extraordinary or superhuman. Accurately executed movements add up to produce outstanding performance.
If you time-lapse the countless hours, days, weeks, and years that a small skill took before it becomes an outstanding skill, anyone can see the process of completing the extraordinary skill by combining ordinary movements.
It becomes excellence and talent when perseverance is added to the constant, continuous, and repetitive repetition of actions that anyone can do. At this time, the best excuse that can alienate me from the pain of daily training is 'talent'.
Why would someone deceive themselves that great skills were not achieved through hard work?
"Our vanity and narcissism promote the cult of genius, because if we think of genius as a magical being, we don't have to feel our shortcomings compared to ourselves... When we call, we don't have to compete with him."
- Nietzsche
If we mythize it as an innate talent and dismiss it as a talent unique to that person, we get immunity from competition. It can also reduce feelings of guilt. But this is only a temporary escape hiding behind the word talent.
Creating a boundary between him and me by deifying 'talent' may be a brief consolation, but we constantly glance towards that world. They want to emulate their life and envy them.
If you have created an impassable river called 'talent' and still want to cross that river, now is the time to get away from the excuse of 'talent' and create excellence yourself.
