Character is essentially a complex of habits.
Character is essentially a complex of habits.
"If you sow the seeds of your thoughts, you will reap the fruits of your actions; if you sow the seeds of your actions, you will reap the fruits of your habit. The seeds of your habit will give you character, and your character will determine our destiny."
Habits are one of the most influential factors in life. For habits, in a consistent and largely unconscious pattern, not only constantly express our character from day to day, but also determine whether or not we can lead an effective and successful life.
Habits are not formed and corrected in a short time with first aid measures.
Habit formation is a process that requires infinite determination and integrity of the parties involved.
Habits go beyond simple repetition of actions.
Habits are a mixture of awareness, skill, and desire.
Awareness is a theoretical paradigm about what we should do and why.
Skill is how to do it, i.e. how to do it.
Desire is something you want to do, that is, a motive.
To make something a habit, you must have these three things.
Changing to get a new habit is sometimes a painful process.
Change is possible only when we can give up our thoughts and desires for a better purpose and future.
This process brings happiness, which is 'the purpose and ideal of existence'.
Happiness can be defined in part as the fruit of our desire and ability to ultimately sacrifice what we want now for what we want.
