"Pride does damage, humility benefits."

"He who knows satisfaction is happy even in poverty and lowliness, and if he doesn't know contentment, he is sad even if he is rich and noble. If he knows how to be satisfied, he will never be reviled for the rest of his life. If he knows how to stop, he will never be ashamed.

- 《Myeongsimbogam》 <Anbun>

According to the sutras, pride causes harm and humility benefits. This is the practical principle of humility and pride.

Humility is self-satisfaction and self-control; arrogance is self-satisfaction and greed.

A person who is satisfied with himself will not only enjoy life, but will not be humiliated. A person who is not satisfied with himself and always wants more should always live in worry.

There is no peace of mind and no true happiness for a person who is not satisfied with a given situation and continues to desire something.

"The ruler of a ruined country must always be proud of himself, consider himself wise, and despise things himself."

- 《Chinese Proverb》

"If the monarch emptyes his mind and waits, the subjects themselves will show their abilities."

- 《Hanbija》

Mencius says that if the king gives a kind government, the people will respect their superiors and give their lives for them.

It is a person to gain with humility, and a person to lose through pride.

If you try to elevate yourself, you lose people and you fall, and if you humble yourself, you gain people.

Respect is not to exalt yourself, but to those who humble you, and naturally stand as a central figure in communication.

"Pride does damage, humility benefits."

In a position to lead people, it is absolutely necessary to establish an attitude of true humility, not pride, and correct self-esteem rather than pride.

He must strive to increase his own value, acknowledge others as much as he is precious, and have the attitude of 'Yeokjisaji', which elevates not only himself but also others through dignified words and actions.

This is the true self-esteem to protect, and the secret to winning people.

As one's status increases, the true ability becomes more about whether they can coexist with people rather than their ability.
