Am I the subject of reading? Are you a slave to time?

If you say reading is important, why not read?

If you don't read yourself, why do you want to teach reading?

Why doesn't life change while reading a book?

I hope that reading is a 'substantial' helpful activity. This is an area that leaves a lot of room for narrow interpretation of reading.

It must be available 'right now' or 'soon' in terms of time, and things that cannot be used right now or soon are not considered 'real'. The purpose of reading a book that can be of practical help in this regard is to interpret the 'usefulness' of reading very narrowly, and prevent it from seeing any other use.

Reading in the logic of 'practical help' makes the reader and learner a slave rather than a sovereign.

Although one should be able to read and understand, and to be able to judge and decide the strength and weakness of the growth rate by oneself, the moment they subordinate their usefulness to the words 'right now' and 'soon', the reader becomes a slave to time.

The moment reading stands in the position of specifications such as TOEIC or certification, reading becomes a task that has to be done quickly without even thinking about it. There is no time to ask questions such as 'why' and 'how'. Because it's someone else's work, you can't help but suffer from the impatience that you have to do. Instead of reading a book while regulating the pace towards the goal you set for yourself, you run for the results you see in front of you. Otherwise, it is because of anxiety. In other words, it becomes a time-pressed reading.

This 'shortening' of the purpose of reading in the name of practicality may be a temporary lure. However, one of the important things to create through long breath reading, which is to keep reading, cannot be developed.

One of the important purposes of reading is to build a body that endures and enjoys learning and mastering.

We need to go from 'a person who reads' to a 'person who reads' and become a 'person who can read'. Only then will you be able to recognize the purpose of enriching your life through reading, and you will be able to control your own pace and measure your own growth period. Only then can you become the master of the sovereignty of time and the subject of your life. When you become the master of your life through reading like this, you will be able to revise and supplement your life by moving on to the next stage without experiencing change as a crisis even in the many transitional periods of your life that change every moment.

If the purpose of reading is 'shortened', it will end as soon as you acquire certain content quickly.

Because it is tedious, it becomes a 'thing that needs to be destroyed'.

If you try to get rid of reading in line with your short-term goals, you will not be able to build a body that reads for intellectual pleasure.

It is not about building a body that reads through reading, but rather a body that achieves goals in a short period of time and stops reading.

What should be cultivated through reading is a person who can read, that is, the subject of reading who can continue reading.

Am I the subject of reading? Are you a slave to time?
