Let's get off the wheel of pleasure and live my life.

Let's get off the wheel of pleasure and live my life.

In modern society, the pursuit of happiness is faced with a simple yet fundamental obstacle: 'needs are relative'.

It's about judging your position relative to the group around you.

Human decisions are always made by a certain standard, and this reference point changes under the influence of the environment to which one belongs.

A person is not absolutely rich or poor, but rather rich or poor compared to the standards he sets for himself, that is, his expectations.

No matter what situation you are in, the reality of the world around you becomes a new standard.

They are usually happy or unhappy compared to the standard that they say 'normal', but in the end, the current situation always changes to a new standard. Thus, happiness always craves average stability. Because of this nature of happiness, the pursuit of happiness is sometimes compared to the 'wheel of pleasure'. No matter how hard you try, you always stay at the same starting point.

A human thinks that he will be happy when he reaches the desired standard, but he follows the law of desire that he did not even know about himself. Humans cannot accept the fact that their needs are highly variable.

He always dreams of a future rise in income, but feels that it is not enough once that dream is realized. For he compares future expectations with aspirations without taking into account that present aspirations are bound to change.

He cannot accept the fact that he changes under the influence of his environment.

My existence is the only judge who has given me the right to evaluate what is good for me. This explains why we think 'wealth growth' is more important than 'wealth' itself in operating society.

Growth provides everyone with a fleeting but ever-renewing hope to rise above the current psychological and social status. It is not the realization of growth, but the promise of such growth to calm anxiety.

Constantly raising the hurdles of hope for happiness is a shortcut to getting caught up in the wheel of pleasure.

Human beings can be free when they can be freed from vague longing, habituation to situations, and fear of loss.

When you can create your own happiness in freedom, the process to reach results can also lead to happiness.
