The ultimate and self-sufficient purpose of action, happiness.

The ultimate and self-sufficient purpose of action, happiness.

What is good for humans?

The ultimate purpose of life, and self-sufficiency, is happiness.

The good is different in each act and skill. Different in medicine, different in military science, and so on.

So what is good in all cases?

It's obviously something that other things are done because of it. In medicine it is health, in military science it is victory, in architecture it is a house, and in other cases, it is something else. That is, it is good that all actions and choices have an end.

If everything we do has one purpose, it is good to be realized, and if there are multiple purposes, it will be good to be realized.

It is clear that not all ends are the ultimate end, as there are many ends, some of which we choose as means to other ends, such as wealth, flutes, and instruments in general. But the supreme good is definitely the ultimate. Therefore, if there is only one ultimate goal, it is a true good, and there are several ultimate goals, and the more ultimate one is good to be pursued.

What is worth pursuing its own sake is said to be more ultimately desirable than that which is undesirable for its own sake and desirable for its own sake. That is why we always call what is always desirable for its own sake and never for the sake of anything else desirable, unconditionally ultimate.

Above all else, happiness seems to be the ultimate. We always choose happiness for ourselves, never for anything else.

This is not the case with honour, pleasure, intelligence, and all virtues. We choose them for themselves, and we choose them for happiness, believing that we will live a happy life through them. But no one chooses happiness because of those things or anything else.

From the point of view of self-sufficiency, the conclusion seems to be the same. Because the ultimate good is thought to be self-sufficient.

The concept of 'self-sufficiency' applies to people living together, not to single people living alone.

Self-sufficiency is defined as a state in which there is no shortage of things, which in itself makes life desirable. happiness is like that Furthermore, they regard happiness as the most desirable and not as one of many. If happiness were regarded as one of many, even the smallest good would certainly make it more desirable. For when good is added, the goodwill grows larger, and the larger of the two good is always more desirable. Thus, happiness is clearly ultimate and self-sufficient as it is the end of the action.
