Man is proved by his attitude, not his knowledge.
Man is proved by his attitude, not his knowledge.
“If you see things that will be beneficial, you think about whether you are righteous, if you see a country in danger, you are willing to sacrifice your life, and if you do not forget old promises and put them into practice, you can be said to be a complete human being.”
These are the words of Confucius while teaching his disciple Zhao about the perfected person (sage).
From this point of view, the conditions of a learned person are the same as those of a perfected person.
Learning is not just filling in knowledge but is a process of striving towards one's own perfection.
There is a lot of knowledge, but a person who only uses that knowledge to achieve his or her own success and does not follow the morals of people cannot be said to have truly learned. He makes difficult doctrines and noble words, but the act of not doing the right thing is to deceive others and even deceive ourselves.
It is a world where learning is judged by the abundance of knowledge and as a tool for success and success. However, the knowledge that is not supported by virtue can rather become a tool that destroys oneself and ruins the family and the country.
Mencius referred to knowledge as 'the virtue that distinguishes between right and wrong. No matter how much knowledge he may have, if he cannot distinguish right from wrong, he cannot be said to have learned him. It is cowardly to know what is right and wrong and not do it.
“It is because you don’t have the courage to know and not do it.” - Confucius
If you cry for justice with your mouth and act unrighteously, you deserve even more criticism.
Because it adds pretence and hypocrisy.
