Make a habit of combining reason and emotion, and performing arts and music.

“I enrich my emotions with poetry, stand upright with examples, and complete with music.”

"If people can't be kind, what's the use of keeping etiquette? If people can't be kind, what's the use of making music?"

The greatest virtue pursued by Confucius is 'humanity'. It is said that examples and music are essential to achieve 'being'.

Confucius emphasized self-discipline to preserve the good nature of man given by heaven and emphasized caring and love so that it can be harmoniously revealed to the world. He taught that the state in which the spirits of one of four people are well expressed is called 'Hwa' and that to achieve 'Hwa', one must always be familiar with the music, the art of harmony, and get used to it.

Studying music is, from today's point of view, nurturing emotions. From the point of view that emotions are essential to living a pleasant and happy life, we can sympathize with what the classics say. Of course, living today, like the old scholars, you can't do music as intensely as if you were training. However, if you have one hobby of being close to music, if you have the leisure to listen to music comfortably in your daily life, your life will be more harmonious and richer.

On the other hand, studying etiquette is to develop rational ability in that you learn the principles of living like a human being. It is also about establishing the right relationship with people. However, it should not be limited to simply acquiring knowledge. You must be able to change yourself and implement it in your life and work, then it can be called true study.

"Speaking of the great sutras and discussing the Way can be done by those with talent and knowledge. However, a person can't show his appearance and do things according to etiquette unless he or she has changed his habit into his nature due to the accumulation of practice. If you look at it, doing it is heavier than knowing it, but that doesn't mean that speaking sutras and discussing the Way is light. to get it."

This article published in [Memorandum] explains why study and cultivation should continue throughout life.

Studying is not simply acquiring knowledge, but 'the habit of learning should become like nature'. Only then can the learning be implemented in life and work. The same goes for music. It should be a level of enjoying life and finding peace of mind, not just music-related knowledge or the ability to play an instrument. Listening to music is more than a hobby, it should become a habit.

It can be speculated that the fact that the princess emphasized reservations and said that one should not neglect one was probably pursuing a person with both reason and emotion. If you are a leader who leads people, these emotions, reason, and intellect must harmonize within you so that they can naturally ooze out from your appearance and deeds. That way, people will listen even if you don't say it, and people will follow you even if you don't lead.

Emotions do not come from accumulated knowledge.

It is an ability that can be felt only when the effort to understand and accept others as if they are self-represented is engraved on the body.
