You don't need to prepare to study.
You don't need to prepare to study.
"Since what we first find are simple rules which seem to be immanent in our minds rather than acquired by craftsmanship, we can use these rules to try to judge philosophical issues right away, and to We should not try to solve it, but rather we should use these rules to work very hard to find what is more urgently needed in the quest for truth." - Descartes
What Descartes says is a more urgent need for the quest for truth is a 'method'. He says he needs some kind of 'preparation' for the quest for truth.
However, Spinoza raises a question about Descartes' theorem.
If a certain method is first required for recognition, what other method is not needed to know the method?
"To grind metal, you need an anvil, and to have an anvil this anvil must be made, and for that, you need another anvil and another tool, and to have these again you need other tools, and so on." - <<Intellect Improvement Theory>>, Spinoza
How to know-how, and how to know how again...
If we think that 'methods required in advance for the search for truth' are necessary, we are bound to reach this infinite regression problem.
Descartes told Yuri that 'anvil' and 'preparation' are essential to obtain the truth, so we should focus on obtaining them. Without such preparation, the work of obtaining the truth should not be undertaken immediately. In response, Spinoza says that there is no advance preparation for obtaining the truth. Preparation will continue to raise the question of that 'preparation for preparation' and, like a student sharpening a pencil to study, the perception will be delayed and eventually, like sceptics, will tell us that it is unrecognizable.
There are no such prerequisites for producing knowledge.
A method is not an antecedent of study, but a result of a study.
It is wrong to think that I cannot study yet because all I have is pebbles and twigs. It may be just an excuse to delay studying, but it is not a true perception of study. Studying can be done at any time, and it starts only by starting.
Just as there are no shortcuts to reading and writing, a study is to start with what one has weak and continue to produce and advance knowledge, not to figure out a way to reach it all at once.
There is no other way to the truth, and the way to the truth is the way of truth.
Studying is about making your own way.
