Two ways to change your life.
Two ways to change your life.
Do two things to make a difference in your life.
First, you must live your life according to your conscience.
Between a stimulus (what happens) and a response (what happens), there is a space of choice. Ultimately, how you use the space determines your growth and happiness. In this space, there are four innate human abilities: conscience, imagination, self-awareness, and independent will.
Conscience is the power to rule your life. Life is not peaceful because you live a life that goes against your conscience. We know it in our hearts. We can look into our conscience by asking ourselves questions and hearing the answers.
Ask yourself.
What is the single most important thing you should start doing to get personal positive results?
What is the most important thing you are going to start doing to bring about positive results professionally?
By listening to the voice of your conscience, you will know what is most precious to you. It is the voice of wisdom, self-awareness, and common sense.
Another important question is what life is asking of me now. Think deeply. Without deep conviction, you won't have the strength to achieve your goals when things get tough. That conviction comes from the conscience.
We all have three lives. public life, private life, and inner life. Public life is what others are watching. Personal life is what you do when you are alone. The inner life is where you go when you really want to check your motives and desires. I strongly encourage you to be faithful to this inner life. For it is the inner life that prepares the heart to listen to the beneficial voice of the conscience.
Second, change your role.
If you want to make more changes in your life, you have to change your behaviour. But if we want meaningful change, we have to change the paradigm. A paradigm is a way of seeing and interpreting the world. The best way to change a paradigm is to change roles. When roles change, you see the world in a different way, and better behaviour naturally emerges from the changed paradigm.
Sometimes a role change occurs as an external event, such as a job title change, but other times a role can be changed by changing perspectives or changing perceptions of the situation.
