True satisfaction is not in owning what you want, but in being free from what you want.


Not freedom of desire, but freedom from desire.


Realizing that happiness does not exist in the world and letting go of that desire.


If the first truth that Gautama Buddha realized was 'absence of happiness', his second truth was 'realize that there is no happiness in the world, and let go of that desire for happiness'. Because that is the way to true happiness.


What you want is pain.


Attempting to own the elephant you crave, manipulating it, thinking about it, and planning are all causes of suffering.


There is no end to what you want, but there is an end to freedom from what you want.
