Don't lower your goals for small achievements.
Don't lower your goals for small achievements.
“If you don’t have the eagerness to learn, you won’t guide it, if you don’t try to express it, you won’t awaken it, and when you lift one corner and show it if you don’t know the three corners, you don’t teach it again.”
- <analogous language>,
Learning is up to you, and the teacher is just giving you the basics and pointing you in the right direction. Mencius also concludes the right teaching as follows:
"Stand on the right path, that the mighty follow."
- <Menci>,
The gentleman merely suggests the right goal of discipline but does not show every detail. Those who want to learn only make efforts based on the level and direction that the teacher directly shows. The capable will follow him, and if he does not have the ability, he is only halfway through.
It is difficult to obtain valuable things no matter what in the world as well as study.
When you try to get it, there are times when you want to give up because it is so hard.
There are many times when you want to lower your goals and reach them more easily. But lowering it doesn't make it easier to achieve. Rather, it only limits their potential.
The problem is not the high or low of the goal, but the conviction and passion to achieve it.
It is not the surrounding environment that blocks the way of a person, but the mind that has closed itself.
The ideal is high, but the practice must be fierce.
