Creation, adding soul to what is.
Creation, adding soul to what is.
"Art is stealing." - Pablo Picasso
Great artists know that nothing springs from the ground.
Everything in the world is waiting for someone's touch.
All creations are built on top of previous creations.
Movie, music, book, painting, poetry, dream, conversation, architecture, bridge, signage, tree, cloud, watercourse, light and shadow...
If I select those that appeal to my soul from among the many things that the world is talking about and express them again in my own language, it becomes another work of art.
there is no original
Writer Jonathan Lessum says:
"When the world calls a work 'original', it's because, in nine out of ten times, it doesn't know what the word refers to or the original source."
"There is nothing new under the sun."
You should be able to see hope, not despair, in this one word about creation.
If you change your gaze, you can read the infinite possibilities.
"All the stories that have to be written have already been written, but since no one has listened, they all have to be rewritten." - André Gide
If we can free ourselves from the compulsion that creations must be created perfectly and be original, we can free ourselves from the futile effort to create something from nothing.
A point of wind, a handful of sunshine, a piece of cloud...
Instead of moving away from the original, you want to reference, embrace it and add my soul.
Originality is plagiarism undetected.
