Learning from science, self-examination.
Learning from science, self-examination.
Many of the hypotheses put forward by scientists and those put forward by non-scientists are later found to be false. But science makes self-verification its life. In order for new ideas to be accepted in the scientific world, they must pass through a rigorous hurdle of evidence.
Science has grown spontaneously in the spirit of free inquiry, and free inquiry is the purpose of science. Any hypothesis, no matter how strange it is, should be carefully weighed on its merits.
Suppressing dissatisfied thoughts may be common in religion or politics, but it is by no means the attitude of truth-seekers. With this kind of attitude, science cannot move forward even one step. Since we do not know who will have fundamental and innovative thinking in advance, everyone should thoroughly conduct self-examination with an open mind.
