A curse as well as an opportunity and a fall of desire

The idea that a post-industrial society would solve the problem of survival and focus only on self-affirmation turned out to be an illusion. We live in an affluent society, but we constantly worry about losing our jobs or social status, and we live our lives with a constant focus on economic and security issues. Like Keynes who erroneously predicted that the arrival of an affluent society would lead to a full focus on art and metaphysics, Engleheart repeats a similar mistake by foretelling a post-materialist society.

Why does material wealth fail to liberate mankind from material problems?

Just as the agrarian society of the past was starved for calories, modern society is still hungry for wealth.

Like a traveller who can't reach the horizon no matter how much he walks, modern people want to keep getting richer. But once you get your hands on this wealth, you want it to become commonplace and move away from it again and again.

Why do humans endlessly want to escape from themselves?

Human desire is a variable factor that is affected by the circumstances in which it unfolds. never satisfied

The craving for desire is limitless.

This variability is both a curse and an opportunity.

It must be possible to transition from quantity to quality life through the right choice.

It doesn't matter what dimension of desire unfolds if human beings sublimate themselves in labour or work and fully exert their role on the stage of society.
